Armenia – Georgia

Day 1: Arrival Yerevan (City tour) Echmiadzin / Zvartnots
Arrival in Zvartnots airport, transfer, accommodation in hotel. Early check-in. After short rest breakfast at the hotel. In the morning meet your Tour Guide and start Yerevan city tour that includes visit to the memorial park and museum of the victims of Genocide. Then drive to Echmiadzin, visit Echmiadzin Cathedral and the treasury. The cathedral was built in 301-303 by Grigor Enlightener. Continue trip to Zvartnots ruins (7th century). Both Echmiadzin and Zvartnots are listed as World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO. Welcome dinner. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.
Day 2: Yerevan /Matenadaran/ Ashtarak town / Amberd
Visit to Matenadaran-depository of ancient manuscripts. Drive to Ashtarak town. Excursion to one of the ancient cities of Armenia, visit to Karmravor church architecture of 7th c., 14th c Old bridge overview. The day will be over with a visit to the 7th c. fortress of Amberd located 2300 meters above sea level and is a fortress complex with a church built on the slopes of Mt. Aragats.. Dinner at a local Armenian family. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.
Day 3: Yerevan / Khor Virap / Areni village/ Noravank
Sightseeing tour to Khor-Virap monastery 4- 17th cc. 45 km. from Yerevan the monastery of Khor-Virap has a very rich history. It is situated in the Ararat valley against the biblical Ararat Mountain, were Noah's arch cast an anchor. The importance of it is connected with Gregory the Illuminator, who introduced Christianity to Armenia first. Continue tour to Noravank monastery - a great religious and cultural centre of 12th c on the way visiting the wine factory of Areni village. Lunch in a local cave cafe. Drive back to the capital city. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.
Day 4 : Yerevan /History Museum/ Garni / Geghard
Visit to the Armenian History museum where the important archaeological collection from Stone Age through Medieval periods is dark and almost unlabeled, but should not be missed. Welcome dinner and overnight at the hotel in Yerevan. Departure to Garni Temple. The citadel and pagan temple of Garni is a picturesque monument of the Hellenistic period and an impressive piece of ancient Armenian architecture. Lunch at a local house in Garni where you will have opportunity to watch Armenian national bread “lavash” baking and barbeque making process in the underground stove called “tonir”. Northeast of Garni, higher up the gorge of the Azat river, there is a magnificent monument of medieval Armenian architecture - Geghard monastery inscribed 
in UNESCO World Heritage list (inscribed in UNESCO World Heritage list). Return back. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.
Day 5 : Yerevan / Lake Sevan / Dilijan / Ghoshavank / Sanahin
Sightseeing tour to Lake Sevan, the Gem of Armenia, a huge mountain lake which takes up to 5% of Armenia’s surface area, Visit to the Sevan monastery on the peninsula 8-9th c. which was built on an island but now this island is a peninsula from where a nice view opens over Lake Sevan. Continue tour to Goshavank monastery 11-13cc famous for its unique type of khachkar (Armenian cross-stone). Continue to Sanahin Monastic Complex (966 AD) - UNESCO World Heritage list. Met and assisted on the border/ border formalities/ Transfer to Tbilisi. Overnight at the hotel in Tbilisi.
Day 6 : Sightseeing tour of Tbilisi and Mtskheta
Explore Tbilisi, the city which has been dominated by traders, warriors, tyrants and dictators in turn. Take a walk around the old town and breathe in the living past. Visit the the most important cultural and historical sites of the capital. Then depart to the former capital to Georgia Mtskheta, located at the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. Mtskheta, one of the oldest towns in Georgia has been populated since the second millennium BC. 
It was the capital of the Eastern Georgian Kingdom of Iberia from the third century BC. It is thought that the name "Mtskheta" comes from the name of the "father of all Georgians, the son of Kartlos, Mtskhetos". Mtskheta is designated as an open air museum and UNESCO World Heritage Site.Lunch at local restaurants. Overnigh in Tbilisi.
Day 7: Tbilisi – Signagi – Telavi
Explore picturesque and the most fertile part of Georgia - Kakheti, which borders the Great Caucasus range from the north Alazani Valley, summits of which are over 3,000 m. This region is known as a birthplace of viticulture and wine- making. The reach land, burning sun and hard work have developed about 500 varieties of vine in Georgia. The history, culture and lifestyle of Georgians are embodied in Georgian wine. It is a symbol of Georgian hospitality, friendship, tolerance and a key to the mystery of Georgian longevity. Enjoy breathtaking views of Kizikhi area and unusual Charm of Signagi Royal Town. Have a walk in narrow streets of the town in shadow of wooden balconies richly decorated with the lace of carved ornaments.Dinner and overnight at a local guesthouse in Telavi*.
Day 8: Telavi – Tbilisi
After breakfast visit Alaverdi Cathedral- En elegant church of 11th cc, the road winds further to visit Ikalto academy complex. Next site to visitis Tsinandaly Family Estate. In the evening arrive back to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 9: Departure.Transfer to the airport
