Cycling Tour

  • Day 1: Arrival-Tsahkadzor (cycling distance 20-25 km)

  • Day 2: Tsahkadzor-Village Bjni-Tsahkadzor (cycling distance 50-55 km) A-B-A

    Breakfast at the hotel. Today our trail leads us through the old villages of Bjni and Aghveran, one of the picturesque towns of Armenia known for its mild climate and picturesque landscapes of the surrounding mountains. Bjni lies on the right bank of the River Hrazdan where we’ll have a chance to hike to the old ruins of Bjni fortress of 9-10cc. Accommodation and dinner in the hotel in Tsahkadzor. Lunch is planned on the road
    Duration - 4, 5-5 hours.

  • Day 3:Tsahkadzor-Lake Sevan-Dilijan-Monastery Gosh (cycling distance 75-80 km) A-C

    After breakfast we cycle to the resort town of Dilijan. Visit unique Sevanavank monastery (9th c.) on the peninsula which used to be an island. Next we cycle up to the monastery of Goshavank. Above the river Agstev sits Goshavank where you can also see unique Armenian khatchkars (cross-stones). The local terrain and the landscape will determine the composite characteristics of this complex. Picnic lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight in hotel in the Villаge Goshbr. Duration - 5,5-6 brhours Altitude Max/Min - 2151m/904m.

  • Day 4:Monastery Gosh-Lake Sevan (cycling distance 80-85 km) C-D

    After breakfast, the path takes us on a cycling route in the direction of the hotel Tsapatagh. The last part of path leads through the main highway along the beach of Lake Sevan. Picnic lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight at the hotel Tsapatagh in Sevan.

  • Day 5:Lake Sevan-village Areguni-Martuni town (cycling distance 85-90 km) D-E

    After breakfast we cycle from hotel Tsapatagh through the village Areguni in the direction of the city of Martuni. The route leads through the main highway along the beach of Lake Sevan. Cars cross these roads very seldom as you will mainly cycle on dirt road. On the way we will visit оld cuneiform writings in the village Artsvanist. Picnic Lunch en route. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in the city of Martuni. Duration 5,5-6 hours Altitude Max/Min - 2245m/1903m

  • Day 6:Martuni town-Selim Pass-Eghegnadzor city (cycling distance 60-65km) E-F

    After breakfast we drive 5-6km on bus from Martuni. Visit the amazingly intact medieval Selim Caravanserai, an important trading center on the Great Silk Road. Caravanserais were quite common in medieval Armenia and Selim Caravanserai is among them. In the whole country it is the only well surviving one coming from the depth of the history. This unique architectural monument of Medieval Armenia is a splendid relic of the days when Armenia was a crossroad for economic, cultural and military affairs. Selim is an excellent example of the Armenian secular architecture of the Middle Ages. We continue the tour into the city of Eghegnadzor. Picnic lunch on the way. Overnight and dinner at the hotel or in private houses in the city Eghegnadsor.

  • Day 7:Yeghegnadzor-Noravank Monastery-Yerevan city (cycling distance 75-80 km) F-G

    After breakfast we drive from Eghegnadzor to visit the monastery of Noravank (13th century), ("New monastery"). After exploring the area we advise to continue route by bus, till the Khor Virap monastery. From where we can continue our way to Yerevan again on bikes. Picnic lunch on the way. Overnight and dinner in the hotel in Yerevan.

  • Day 8:Yerevan city-Garni Village-Monastery Geghard-Yerevan city (cycling distance 75-80 km) G-H-G

    Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Garni village where you will visit the Hellenic pagan temple Garni (1 AD), which is a picturesque temple from the Hellenistic period and an impressive piece of ancient Armenian architecture. It was built in the first century AD by the Armenian king Tiridates and was dedicated to the god of sun. Continue cycling to Geghard cave monastery (13th century), which is inscribed in UNESCO World Heritage List. Picnic lunch on the way. Overnight and dinner in the hotel in Yerevan.

  • Day 9: City tour in Yerevan

    Breakfast at hotel. City tour around Yerevan including a visit to Tsitsernakaberd Memorial park and museum of the victims of Genocide. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the second half of the day your main attraction will be Armenian History Museum, here the important archaeological collection from Stone Age through Medieval periods is dark and almost unlabeled but should not be missed. Overnight in Yerevan.

  • Day 10:Departure

    Transfer to the airport. Departure home!
